The year 2020 was a life-changing, with eyes open wide and will not be forgotten in quite a while. We all experienced it, and most so in the education and childcare sector. As someone who is a stakeholder in the sector, no single activity was allowed for months ongoing. While the virus is still being understood, this is still the case in the education and childcare sector being closed and open at will to ensure the safety of children, parents, and families. Think about the impact on various children sector companies closed down with no income, including our planet-emc.com , with no insurance money coming through, even though we had covered and no help from the government.

Irrespective, being the best version of yourself is important and crises can be a necessity for creativity. Imagine looking into the fridge on an empty stomach only to find three ingredients left, the meal prepared from those ingredients tends to be the best. This was what the year 2020 taught us making the best out of what the year gave us. As an educator and a business owner the year, 2020 brought much creativity out of a crisis moment for me. However, truth be told, I am human, and it got to a point when the fuel started to run out. I started to doubt myself and second guess if I was in the right sector or profession. However, one thing is sure, I always show up when the stage is mine. As the self-doubts and turmoil were ongoing in me, professional showing up could not be compromised, which paid up with one recommendation I got and surely gave me the boost I needed.

Regardless of the self-doubt, you may be going through, when presented with a stage, own it because you do not know when a recommendation is round the corner. Happy 2021.
